Driftwood Stays Inc. respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our site or book a stay, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

1. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to take and honour a booking:

Contact details you give us — name, email address and phone number.
Booking details — the property, dates, number of guests and any notes you add.
Payment information — processed by our payment provider. We receive confirmation of payment and the last four digits of the card; we never see or store the full card number.
Messages you send us through the contact form or by email.
Basic technical data — pages visited and approximate region, used to keep the site working and understand which homes people look at.

2. How we use it

To confirm and manage your reservation, to pass the details the owner needs in order to host you, to answer your questions, to process payment and issue receipts, and to meet our legal and tax obligations.

We will only send you marketing email if you ask us to, and every such email has an unsubscribe link that works.

3. Who we share it with

The owner of the home you book receives your name, contact details and stay details so they can host you. Our payment provider receives what it needs to take payment. Our email and hosting providers process data on our behalf under contract.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.

4. Where it is stored

Data is stored on servers operated by our hosting provider and may be processed outside Canada. Where that happens, we take steps to ensure comparable protection applies.

5. How long we keep it

Booking records are kept for seven years to meet tax and accounting requirements. Contact form messages are kept for two years. Anything else is deleted once it is no longer needed.

6. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies that are necessary for the site to function — remembering your search and keeping your booking session active. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers.

7. Your rights

You can ask us at any time to:

Tell you what personal information we hold about you.
Correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
Delete information we no longer need to keep.
Withdraw consent to marketing communications.

8. Security

The site is served over HTTPS and access to booking data is limited to staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affecting your information occurs we will tell you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
