Terms of service

Driftwood Stays Inc. operates a booking platform for privately owned vacation rentals in Canada. We are not the owner of the homes listed unless a listing says otherwise. The rental agreement for your stay is between you and the property owner; we facilitate the listing, the booking and the payment.

A reservation is a request until the owner confirms it, which normally happens within 24 hours. You will receive written confirmation by email once it is accepted. If the owner cannot accept your dates, any amount taken is refunded in full.

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. The person who books must be one of the guests staying, and the guest count given at booking must match the number of people who actually stay.

All prices are shown in Canadian dollars and include the nightly rate, cleaning fee, service fee and applicable taxes, itemised before you confirm. The total presented at checkout is the total you pay.

Payment is processed by our payment provider. We do not receive or store your full card details. If your payment is declined the reservation is not held.

Cancellations are handled under our cancellation policy, which forms part of these terms. Changes to dates or guest numbers are subject to availability and the owner’s agreement.

While staying you agree to:

You are responsible for damage caused by you or your party beyond fair wear and tear. Owners may seek the reasonable cost of repair or replacement. We will contact you before any claim is made and give you an opportunity to respond.

We visit every home before listing it and take reasonable care that descriptions, photographs and amenities are accurate. Owners may make changes over time. If something material differs from the listing on arrival, tell us within 24 hours and we will work with the owner to put it right or find you an alternative.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, our total liability arising from a booking is limited to the amount you paid for that booking.

We are not liable for events outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, road closures, utility failures or government restrictions.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.
